I’m John Greater, owner of johngreaterlab.com — 50 years old, based in Scheibbs, Austria. I’ve been devouring science fiction since I was a teenager and always dreamed of writing my own books and building my own apps and websites.

With the help of today’s AI tools, that dream has finally come true. 2047 - THE WHITE ROOM is my first book — a story I’ve been carrying with me for years.

Besides my passion for science fiction, I build innovative digital projects that bring technology and creativity together — from interactive children’s books to more complex web applications.

ki-kunterbunt brings together AI-powered chat, creative tools, and small adventure games in one place: here, children shape their own worlds in conversation with endearing characters, while a paint tool and picture-book features make images and stories visible. Treasure Island, the treasure hunt, and the KIKI Show turn reading and choosing into an experience; the library and gallery invite discovery. Text-to-speech supports read-aloud, and the profile keeps content and purchases (e.g. credits) in one secure, manageable space — so the site stays clear and usable for families.

A PHP web app with an English UI: upload PDFs, plain text, Markdown, Word documents, and images into your own folder; files are split into chunks and indexed for search. Visitors can query a public demo library; signed-in users keep a private index. Questions use BM25-style retrieval over your chunks, then Google Gemini to produce grounded answers—with optional query translation and a German-replies mode. Rebuild the index after uploads; chat threads can be saved locally in the browser.
